The other day, we were in a store and a woman of, how would I say this?…diminished stature…vertical challenge…possibly calcium deficient from childhood (yep, that one sounds good), approached me to ask if I could grab a specific item located on a higher shelf.

Firstly, I have to say, I have absolutely no problem with this and am happy to assist whenever possible. I mean, I don’t want to be retrieving a 70” Flat Screen or a Mini-Fridge from an eight foot shelf, but little, light things like pillows, a picture frame or possibly a wooden cooking spoon are generally fine.

I have been tall for most of my life so I am pretty familiar with the advantages that accompany my height and very aware of those who think it would be much better and easier if they were able to “live amongst the clouds” as well.

Well, I have decided to use the tiny platform of this blog to highlight some of the issues we of advanced physical standing have to face on a regular basis.

We recently had the privilege of reconnecting with our dear friends, Kelvin and Lucy Co, over dinner. It was a wonderful time of catching up and hearing all the details from each other’s travels and plans for the future.

In the midst of our conversation, Kelvin brought to my attention a point we have discussed in the past but one to which I have never really given proper consideration until now.

The point?

As couples, he with Lucy and myself with Becky, we talk A LOT.
